A Few Worked Examples
Clock 1: the short hand points at 3 and the long hand points straight up at 12, so it reads
3:00.
Clock 5: the long hand at the 3 means 15 minutes, so it reads 4:15 (quarter past 4).
Clock 9: the long hand is just past the 7, which is 37 minutes, so it reads 5:37.
