Fraction to Decimal Calculator

Convert a fraction to a decimal and a percentage by dividing the numerator by the denominator.

Fraction to Decimal Calculator

3/4 = 0.75 Divide 3 by 4: 3 / 4 = 0.75 (= 75%).

What This Fraction to Decimal Calculator Does

A fraction is a division waiting to happen: 34\tfrac{3}{4} literally means “3 divided by 4.” Carry out that division and you get the decimal, 0.75 - the same amount written in tenths and hundredths instead of quarters. Multiply by 100 and you have the percentage as well.

Some fractions divide out exactly (a quarter is 0.25); others, like a third, run on forever (0.333…). Enter a numerator and denominator and the tool does the division and shows the matching percent.
